THE LOUVRE IN QUÉBEC CITY: THE ARTS AND LIFE
From June 5
A worldwide exclusive at Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the exhibition will bring together over 270 major works from eight departments of the Parisian institution: Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan, Roman, and Oriental antiquities, as well as Islamic art, decorative arts, sculptures, paintings, and prints and drawings. Tickets are for a set date and time.

LES MISÉRABLES
June 27 to October 19
Heartwarming musical LES MISÉRABLES comes to Québec City for the very first time with over 50 artists on stage! Considered the third biggest musical on Broadway, LES MISÉRABLES has been playing in London for the past 22 years. The musical is performed only in French. Not to be missed!

MUSÉE NATIONAL DES BEAUX-ARTS DU QUÉBEC
On the Plains of Abraham, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec boasts more than 27,000 works of art dating back to the 17th century. With exhibitions devoted to Québec’s artists from today and yesteryear as well as a number of permanent exhibits on Québec painters (the likes of Jean Paul Lemieux and Jean-Paul Riopelle), the museum is the living memory of Québec’s art and artists, all while taking a regular look at the best the international art world has to offer. Don’t miss your chance to visit the former prison on the Plains, now part of the museum and home to its remarkable collection of 2,600 pieces of Brousseau Inuit art. Relax on one of the city’s finest patios and enjoy breathtaking views of Battlefields Park and the St. Lawrence River.

MUSÉE DE LA CIVILISATION
Québec City’s people’s museum stands proudly in the Old Port. CENTRE D’INTERPRÉTATION DE LA VIE URBAINE DE LA VILLE DE QUÉBEC
Québec City’s center on urban living is a unique place to learn all about the phenomenon of urban life. Located in Maison Chevalier, educational and cultural activities trace the development of the urban environment, public art, architecture, world and historical heritage, and citizenship. The center is also home to the Old Québec: Secrets and Anecdotes exhibition, which reveals Québec City’s history in contemporary, interactive fashion. It is also the point of departure for the new Québec City Walking Tour of 32 audio stations. The tour has been officially recognized by UNESCO and is available 24/7.

QUÉBEC CITADEL
This national historic site on Cape Diamond is the perfect spot to learn more about Québec City’s military past. The Citadel was the biggest of the fortifications built in Canada during the British colonial period. Today, it remains home to the governor general’s summer residence as well as a military prison dating back to 1842. Watch the changing of the guard at 10 a.m. every morning between June 24 and the first Monday in September, weather permitting. History and architecture buffs can take a guided tour exploring the places normally reserved for members of the Royal 22nd Regiment, the infamous Van Doos.
